The Douro Demarcated Region is divided into 3 sub-regions: Baixo Corgo, Cima Corgo and Douro Superior: each with its own history, culture and, above all, climate, resulting in distinct wines.
Location: Douro Superior – Easternmost region, situated between Cima Corgo and Spain.
Climate: Mediterranean/Continental.Â
Rainfall (average annual): 300mm.Â
Soil: Schist.
Winemaking: Fermentation and aging for 8 months in concrete vats.
